Get started with DevGenie

Create your account, choose a plan, install the DevGenie plugin in Claude Code, sign in and run your first command.

DevGenie runs inside Claude Code. You need Claude Code v2.1.154 or later and a network connection.

1. Create your account and choose a plan

Go to the DevGenie portal and select Sign in or create an account. Use your Google account or your email address; signing in the first time creates your account.

On your account page, choose a plan. Checkout runs on Stripe. If you have a promotion code, enter it at checkout. A card is always collected, so your plan carries on by itself when a promotion ends.

After you pay, refresh your account page until it shows your plan as active.

2. Install the plugin

In Claude Code, run:

/plugin marketplace add SmartgenieUK/devgenie
/plugin install devgenie@smartgenie

3. Sign in from Claude Code

Run /mcp, choose devgenie-core, and authenticate. Your browser opens the SmartGenie sign-in page. Sign in with the same Google account or email you used on the portal. Claude Code keeps you signed in.

4. Check your machine

Run /devgenie:setup. It checks your Claude Code version and the tools DevGenie needs, then confirms you are signed in and your plan is active. If something is missing, it tells you what to do.

5. Start a project

Run /devgenie:new in the folder where you want your project. DevGenie walks you through each step from there. See Commands for what each command is for.
